This part of my blog is focused on sharing all my past travels. I visited all described places and most of the photos were taken by me personally (if otherwise it is stated under the post). All information published comes from my travel experience, however, do not expect similar to TripAdvisor of Lonely Planet guide. Rather, my purpose was different. I wanted to draw your attention to the attitude towards travelling, to the way the travel is organized, and above all, how to make your travel inspiring and breathtaking experience. I would be most happy if my travel blog encouraged you to travel yourself.

So, enjoy reading all published posts and let me know whether you need more information about particular destinations.

Hawaii, Jack and the Fatman

Hawaii, Jack and the Fatman
As a kid I was watching a TV series titled Jack and the Fatman. This series was a wired combination of paradise-like Honolulu and crime. While watching this series I tried to imagine what it’s like to be a cop in a Hawaiian shirt. Isn’t it tempting to stay on the beach all day instead to walking in the dark underground parking? Or maybe living in a place like Hawaii you get use to the beauty surrounding and it does not ... Read more

Pompeii – the buried city

Pompeii – the buried city
Pompeii is an archaeological site of world fame. I am pretty sure that in many countries it is  an important element of the school curriculum. Despite its high historical value I appreciate it of somehow different reasons. The buried city is a unique site where you can admire social life with all its complexities. I have always had an impression that history taught in school is fragmented: particular areas of human activity are ... Read more

Portofino – this is what I call a posh place

Portofino – this is what I call a posh place
I don’t expect that many of my readers remember famous song titled Love in Portofino performed by Dalida in the late fifties. OK, true, neither did I, until I saw it this morning. Her black&white clip has been posted on youtube channel few years ago where you can still watch it. Why am I writing about this old song? Because I still remember my parents singing this very song when I was a child. In my memory Portofino ... Read more

Cacao et Chocolat Île St-Louis – the best chocolate ever

Cacao et Chocolat Île St-Louis – the best chocolate ever
Paris is one of the most popular touristic destinations in the world. While you find thousands of “good advises” and “must-see” spots I would like to encourage you to a lazy walk around one of the city islands: Île St-Louis. Frankly, even if Paris is not my favorite city I think I would agree with Audrey Hepburn who said: “Paris is always a good idea” I went to Paris many times and I saw it in ... Read more

IJburg – living on the artificial island

IJburg – living on the artificial island
It is rather common to think about the Netherlands as a country determined by highly skilled management of water. A substantial part of this country lies below the sea level. For most of the tourists Holland means: good cheese, tulips and bicycles. I would like to convince you that Holland is not just flowers and water. It is also a country of modern architecture and advance engineer solutions. To see a real housing innovation you ... Read more

While it might be trivial as all travel guides say it I would still encourage you start your visit in Milan from the central square. This is a busy square packed with people in organized groups, Japanese mostly. For me the best time to visit this place was during the night: it looks marvelous.  It is beautifully illuminated! But if I was in Milan only for a short visit and had no chance to wait until the dark I would recommend a ... Read more

Old school trams in Milan

Old school trams in Milan
The nice thing to do in Milan is to go somewhere by tram. The city center is covered with the electric net which feeds old and modern trams. Take a ride. Just for a change. To make it really nice and kind of ‘old school’ or ‘vintage’ impression take the old wooden tram which makes a terrible noise. These trams have funny additional step that magically appears when the door is open. Be careful and hold on: these trams may sometimes ... Read more

Red wooden horse

Red wooden horse
The theme of souvenirs and artifacts bought in remote places, their originality or falsity is often discussed. It sometimes stirs emotions of a traveler who went to the end of the world and brought it home where a receiver of this precious goody discovers ‘made in China’ written on a hidden part of the object. Although I rarely buy so called souvenirs I remember that before my first trip to Norway I wanted to buy a red ... Read more

Fashion in Milan

Fashion in Milan
Milan is known for its love for fashion. Now, being a student often means that your lifestyle is dramatically limited by the budget you have. Mine was and so I missed my opportunity to witness the ‘big world’ at my doorstep. But having an invitation for the Milan Fashion Week is not the only way to see fashion. I would suggest you to walk the main streets like Via Dante, Corso Magenta, or Foro Buonaparte to see ordinary people that ... Read more

Far to the north. One day in Narvik

Far to the north. One day in Narvik
I have never thought that one day I will cross a polar circle. It’s not that I have always loved sun and beach and I have never spent my holiday in a cold place. It was just SO far away! If you think about the Earth and they way the continents are placed you will see that European Nordic countries are really far to the North. While spending one of my summer holiday in Scandinavia I thought it might be a good idea to visit Narvik. I ... Read more
