It’s pretty straightforward: you just take your mountain boots and you climb as high as you can. The views from the mountain peak grab you and throw you in another dimension. While climbing requires a certain level of physical condition and it takes time to build fitness I have something for you that can be done with minimal effort. A short but awesome track in the Dolomites: from Miralago to Fuciade. With the sun shining and blue sky above the views are very much paradise like! This is extremely easy track you can do in the afternoon, with the whole family or even with baby stroller! In general, the Dolomites, are not the easiest mountains in the world however they are vast enough to find accessible trails with stunning views and the trail to Fuciade is one of them. If you spend your holiday near Passo San Pellegrino, Moena or Val di Fassa the day spent in Fuciade is a MUST! Pick up the day wisely: you need a sunny weather to enjoy the view.     [/col_third_last]Drive to Miralago and leave your car there, on a parking near a mountain lodge. There is an excellent restaurant (Rifugio Miralago) and you can eat your lunch there and spend your afternoon on the track. You simply take the track number 607 and follow the road. If you are lucky you will meet some wild animals along the road like marmots, eagles and mountain goats. About one third of the track leads you through the forest and in a warm summer day it brings a relief. Then, it becomes more rocky but you get spectacular views. First, you meet the typical mountain wooden chalets that serves to the locals for their pastoral and handicrafts activities. The moment you walk a rocky path breathtaking views open in front of your eyes. You see the green grass full of small flowers and behind it you lay your eyes on the rocky Marmolada range. If above all you see the blues sky you’re in paradise. Wasn’t that difficult, was it? I remember the first time I went there with bunch of my Italian friends and it was fabulous. It was in August, couple of years ago. The day was sunny, warm and still. There were some light clouds on the incredibly blue sky. We had lunch in Miralago and went up in the afternoon. There were few people who were walking the track so we enjoyed the space and silence. This is one of the few places I visited where without making an effort you are rewarded with stunning views. I discovered it thanks to my friends who know the Dolomites well and I think this is the best possible way to know the world: through the eyes of locals and people who are familiar with the surrounding. In 2008 the Dolomites were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And I think it was an excellent choice! Have you ever thought about visiting Italy? Here is an alternative way on how to visit Italy and get really close to the Italian way of life. I created a project ‘I love Ferrara‘ so you could join me and experience how beautiful and tasty Ferrara is. If you wish to immerse in Italy book your holiday now!
